May 20, 2009
The Asprey polo team won the prestigious Queen Mother’s Centenary Tournament 15 goal trophy at the Guards Polo Club on Sunday the 17th of May 2009. The team consisting of Simon Holley, Chris Hyde, Johnny Good and Sebastian Dawney beat Aravali polo team, which was centred around father and son Howard and Oliver Hipwood by 7 goals to 3, in a very exciting match played in the rain. Both Chris and Johnny played very well with great support from Simon and as ever a very strong back in Sebastian who let nothing past him. The tournament, which was played over two weeks, was very closely fought, with the Asprey team winning all of its league matches to reach the final. This is the second time that the Asprey team has won this tournament since it was founded in 2007.
